While boaters have come to appreciate the added confidence of having a bow thruster, they can do without the noise. Vetus DC thrusters are among quietest and safest thrusters available. A unique single six blade propeller design and streamlined tail piece work together to increase the thrust in both directions and reduce cavitation caused by flow disturbances in the tube. The propeller is molded reinforced nylon for light weight and to reduce fouling.
Vetus thrusters include everything needed for installation except the tunnel, which is ordered to match the installation requirements. The included joystick control features built in safety ON circuitry and a time lapse device to minimize possible thruster damage when changing thrust direction. A LED light and buzzer warn operators of excessive use and will auto shutdown if the thruster is continuously run for more than two minutes. While we recommend a primary shutdown switch, the entire system can be turned ON and OFF from the joystick or from an optional wireless remote control. The joystick has the added safety of automatically shutting itself off after 30 minutes of inactivity.
